The Cometeers are a seven-piece original instrumental powerhouse from San Diego, California. Their sound is a high-energy blend of Afro-Cuban rhythms, Stax-inspired horn lines, surf/fuzz guitar riffs, deep pocket bass grooves, and swinging backbeats.
Originally formed in 2022 as a soul instrumental group, The Cometeers released their self-titled debut EP in 2023. Their musical influences span decades and continents, drawing from artists like Led Zeppelin, James Brown and the JB Horns, Fela Kuti, Poncho Sanchez, and Los Destellos.
With a focus on bold hooks and a shifting palette of tempos and styles, The Cometeers have one goal: to keep the crowd moving.
